Launch of the week

Glad that's not me... MoPar or No Car!!!!

Gore Sprints part 2

The Gore Sprints are a local tradition and usually get a pretty good turnout, this year being no exception. Cars posting times included turbos, Hemis, late model Falcodores, Rotors, assorted supercharged and gassed v8s and a lot of bikes, buckets and a rail. Good fun!!

More from the local car yard...

Ever popular, local Valiants are again being sold by Motor Vehicle Dealers. Now that can only be good news!!

On the left is a 73 CJ 360 ( same model as ours but without electric seat, cloth upholstery or A/C, plus ours has lower K's and the correct hubcaps!!).

Below is a VK Ute with 14" Cragar SS wheels, 265 etc..

Local Content

We took the girls to the A&P Show in Gore on Saturday and one of the local Car Clubs (Aussie Muscle) had a cool line up on display.

There was a good spread of cars on site - considering many more club members didn't bring their toys.

The slideshow in the sidebar shows some of the non-chrysler beasts as well (to prove I am not entirely one eyed) and the pictures in this post show some true 'Southern Iron'. The Stripeys in the pics are the real deal - no replicas here!! Pretty impressive considering that this isn't an R/T Club Day or Classic Circuit event.

I hope to begin a local 'Chrysler Only' club in the near future if I get some interest. Hopefully we can entice some of the local owners to join - there are so many more cars on the streets that don't turn up at show events. If you are interested let me know!

In the meantime, feel free to drool!!

Howdy. I'm stoked. A mate of ours from the central Nth Island has just bought a genuine Ex- GTX series E49 Charger. This car came second in the series one year in the early seventies, when Chargers roamed the earth and ruled New Zealand GT Racing.

After clocking up a lot of miles in a very short time he has realised that a vehicle that requires a mortgage to buy should probably be driven a little less and with a little more caution. To this end he has begun (already!!) a replica build using our VH770 with the stretched rear end ( mini tubbed widebody) to hit the track ( street?) with.

The work is being done down here, I believe the plan is to either use his fact 6 pack motor/box or build a torque monster 265 (with fuel injection being a possibility). Yeehah.

I'm extra stoked because he is going to give me a drive in the Real Deal when I next get up there. Watch out y'all.
